SAGOMED Completes Authorised Person (AP) Training – Demonstrating International-Standard Professional Competence
From November 24 to 28, 2025, Saigon Medical Engineering and Equipment Corporation (SAGOMED) sent its technical team to participate in the Authorised Person (AP) training at Atlas Copco Academy, Malaysia. This advanced program follows the HTM 02-01 standard—an internationally recognized guideline in the field of Medical Gas Pipeline Systems (MGPS).
The training not only updated the team’s knowledge to global standards but also reaffirmed SAGOMED’s commitment to standardizing processes and elevating service quality.
The AP (Authorised Person) Certification and Its Role in MGPS
The AP certification is granted to personnel qualified to manage, supervise, and operate medical gas pipeline systems in compliance with HTM/ISO standards. An AP is responsible for ensuring that MGPS systems function safely, continuously, and in accordance with prescribed procedures; inspecting and approving installation and maintenance work; and coordinating with hospitals and contractors to ensure operational safety.
This role is clearly defined in the UK HTM 02-01 standard and is considered a critical factor in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of hospital medical gas systems.

Why SAGOMED Invests in AP Certification
Having a team of AP-certified engineers delivers significant value to both customers and the company. Medical gas pipeline systems are regarded as the “lifeline” of every hospital; therefore, AP personnel help minimize operational risks and enhance patient safety.
In addition, modern MGPS projects require strict compliance with HTM 02-01 and ISO 7396, in which the presence of an AP is mandatory. Investing in AP training allows SAGOMED to standardize its installation, commissioning, and maintenance processes, while strengthening trust and credibility with hospitals and partners.
Key benefits include:
- Enhanced quality control in MGPS installation and maintenance
- Ensured operational safety, continuity, and compliance with international standards
- Reinforced professional expertise and service excellence in the medical gas fiel

Knowledge and Capabilities Gained After the Training
Upon completing the AP program, SAGOMED personnel gained in-depth knowledge of MGPS structure, operation, and management. They also developed advanced skills in risk assessment, technical inspection, approval of installation work, and system operation in accordance with HTM 02-01 standards.
These competencies form a crucial foundation for SAGOMED to continue implementing MGPS projects with the highest levels of safety and quality.

A Strategic Milestone in SAGOMED’s Development Journey
The successful completion of AP training further reinforces SAGOMED’s long-term orientation toward standardization, professional advancement, and international integration in the hospital medical gas sector.
SAGOMED will continue to invest in people—the core element that defines service quality and builds long-term trust with customers nationwide.
