SAGOMED Completes Central Medical Gas System Handover at National Hospital of Obstetrics and Gynecology – Facility 2

Recently, Saigon Medical Equipment and Engineering Joint Stock Company (SAGOMED) successfully completed the construction and handover of the central medical gas system at the National Hospital of Obstetrics and Gynecology – Facility 2, one of the 250 key national projects under Prime Ministerial Directive 136. This project represents a significant step forward in expanding the hospital’s capacity to serve patients at the leading obstetrics and gynecology center in Vietnam.

The central medical gas system, often referred to as the hospital’s “lungs,” was implemented and installed by SAGOMED in strict accordance with HTM 2022 HTM 02-01 (UK) and TCVN standards. This system requires absolute precision and safety, demanding close coordination between technical design, MEP construction, and inspection teams.

• Precise and synchronized construction: optimizing gas pipelines, supply points, and equipment integration according to international standards.

As the contractor responsible for the 60,000 m² medical gas system, SAGOMED applied a rigorous project management process:

• Developing detailed construction plans in parallel with other building works.
• Coordinating engineers, specialists, and supervisors under a multi-tier management model.
• Monitoring progress, safety, and acceptance according to approved technical milestones.

As a result, the system was delivered on schedule, meeting operational requirements for a 300-bed hospital with 1,000 patient visits per day.
